We
have tried to make submitting a lesson plan as easy as possible.
Following is a list of instructions you might find helpful. You
should print this page for easy reference.
- Lesson plans
are reviewed by the Teachers of the
Year Committee on a monthly basis. Official notifications
will be sent out on the 15th of each quarter: March, June, September,
and December.
- To get an idea
of structure, format, and content requirements, browse through
current lesson plans. Candy
Walk is an example of approved lesson plan. Hit the BACK
button on your browser to return to this page.
- For uniformity,
teachers are required to use our forms when submitting a lesson
plan. You can fill out the forms on-line or copy and paste the
lesson plan template into
your word processing program--Word or WordPerfect. This copy-and-paste
method will allow you to save your lesson plan on disk for your
own reference and run spell check before you submit the
final product.
- If you
choose the copy-and-paste method, you may find these keystrokes
helpful:
Select All: Ctrl + a
Copy: Ctrl + c
Paste: Ctrl + v
Undo: Ctrl + z
- Using the lesson
plan template, type your lesson plan.
- Digital
attachments including .jpgs, .gifs, .ppts, .pdfs, .txt, .docs
may be e-mailed directly to us.
Please include your name and title of your lesson plan, and
we will make the necessary links.
- If a website
is part of your lesson plan, you must type the complete website
address including http://www as in the following example:
http://www.whatever.com/
(Don't
forget the last backslash!)
- When you have
completed the lesson plan, perform a spell check. (This will be
your only chance before you submit.)
- Save your lesson
plan and leave it open in your word processing program.
- Minimize (don't
close) your word processor and open your Internet browser. This
will allow you to easily move back and forth between programs
as you copy-and-paste.
- Go to the Commonwealth
of Knowledge lesson plan section and hit the submit a lesson plan
button.
- Fill in ALL
required fields.
- Copy and paste
the content of your lesson plan from your word processing program
into the submit a lesson plan form. This will require you to move
between the programs several times.
- Press submit
when you have copied all the information into the proper fields.
